Hi,
There's a problem with internet download manager. Site is playing some sounds but internet download manager trys to download them. What shall I do to play them without downloading? I use internet explorer 8.0. Thanks.
Depends on the site you are talking about.
Well, here are the steps for stopping the automatic playing of mp3 and wave sounds from internet explorer 8 and windows XP:
1. Go to the control panel.
2. Open "folder options"
3. Navigate to the filetypes page.
4. Select mp3 or wav, or do both (one at a time, of course)
5. Click advanced.
6. Check the "confirm open after download" box.
7. click OK.
8. If you are done, click close.
Hi,
I talk about the zone.
Hi. Do you say good things about the Zone, or bad?
Why shall I say bad things huh?
i had this problem when i first got the programme, too.
i can't remember how i solved it exactly, but somewhere in the internet download manager window- there is a box to allow exceptions of site where the programme does not take over downloads.
that's what i did for the zone and it's fine now
I think there's a checkbox too, I'm gonna try that.
Where's the checkbox?
Hello Burak,
to stop IDM from downloading the sounds of the zone website, as an example, do the folowing:
1. Launch internet download manager.
2. press the alt key, and right arrow to downloads. Then use the up arrow to find options.
3. Navigate to the file types tab.
4. Press tab until you get to: don't start downloading automaticly from the following sites.
5. Press control and end, to get to the bottom of the edit field.
6. press the space bar and then type in:
www.zonebbs.com
7. Tab until you get to ok, and activate it.
Alternatively, when the download file info dialog comes up if you're on a site where IDM automaticly downloads sounds, press the cancel button, and go to the site again, and repeat the same process again, and IDM will offer you to add the site you're on to the exception list.
Regards,
Thank you! Hopefully sounds will be played.
Then, what should I do to make the sounds play? I use mozilla firefox 9.0.
Hello Burak,
ensure that you have the necessary plugins installed for firefox to play the sounds. I think you might need some quicktime plugin I'm not too sure. since its been sometime since I've used firefox. But regardless, firefox will notify you about what plugins needs to be installed.
Regards,
It sometimes nodifyes me, but when I click on download missing plug-ins, it tries to download Quick time player, but it fales. I don't know why, it doesn't tell me the reason. And I think I won't download the thing, maybe I can download it later.
